On May 2nd (3:30-4:30 PST) SCHI will be holding a Virtual Cocktail Hour on our Breeze web-conferencing platform. The Symposium on the 4th will be fairly structured, so this is a great opportunity for students registered for the Symposium, to meet virtually, and get to know each other in advance of the Sunday workshop. Equally, it is also a great time to test your system with the Breeze software. We will send out Breeze access URLs

I have recieved a request from the Interoperability Showcase Committee that they are looking for a few volunteer docents for the e-Health Conference 2008.

Dr. Penny Ballem has been confirmed as this year's SCHI Symposium keynote speaker!! She is tentatively scheduled to present at 13:00 PST on May 4th.

Registration for the Symposium is now open. To register for the Symposium, please follow the link below. You will be contacted by the Symposium organizers by email when the schedule of presentations is created and day of timelines are confirmed.
Also, if you are planning to connect virtually, instructions as to the necessary hardware/software to participate will also be sent to you later by email. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop us a line on our Facebook page, or at the 'contact us' tab on the top right of the page.
We have a number of guest expert panelists who will be providing feedback to students' papers who are accepted for the Symposium over the course of the day. Submit your abstracts soon to have a chance at this excellent opportunity to receive feedback on your project from these world expects in HI/eHealth!! We are tentatively planning to have at least two guest experts at each student presentation.

A Facebook group for the 'Student Collaborative in Health Informatics' has been created. Search for it through Facebook (or click here) and see how many 'degrees of separation' you are from other students interested in Health Informatics/eHealth across Canada and the world!
Students registered for the e-Health Conference 2008 may attend the on-site Symposium FREE OF CHARGE. Equally, thanks to our sponsor, the University of Waterloo, participation in the conference virtually via the Breeze Web-conferencing software is also FREE (space limited).
